Graduation is around the corner for Mission Bay High School. The big day for all the seniors is coming really quickly. As a senior at Mission Bay, this was the best four years of my life. Mission Bay changed me a lot and I would just like to say thank you to all the admin, teachers, and students at Mission Bay. Graduation is June 13th at Clairemont at 5:00 in the afternoon. Mission Bay provided up to eight tickets for each students to invite parents, love ones, or anyone they wanted to invite. Mission Bay limited the tickets this year because we have a lot of seniors graduating this year and we have few seats for people to come watch their kids watch that stage.
“This school year blew by so fast. I remember my first day of school and now we graduate and become young adults. It’s crazy how life works,” said Sara Sandoval (Grade 12). A lot of seniors seem nervous about what the future holds for them. Many seniors expressed to me that college is a really big step for them and it’s a whole different atmosphere but they also believe that they will get through this and it should be fun.
We the Beachcomber wanted to know if any seniors wanted to thank any of the teachers or admin at Mission bay High School. This is what some of the seniors had to say. “I would like to thank our football coach, Coach Matson, for teaching me all the things I’ve learned this year and making this the best senior year ever,” said Devante Kinder (Grade 12). Devante Kinder will be graduating with honors with a gpa of 4.1. I ran into Lorrie Nguyen (Grade 12) walking to class and she had something to say too. “I would like to thank Mr. Larowe for staying on me the whole year and being hard on me. He taught so much this year especially with the moving out project.” Lorrie Nguyen will also be graduating with honors with a gpa of 3.6.
“I will love to thank my basketball coach, Coach Kane, for not only just being a coach to me but also be a father figure to me and my whole team. He has taught me the three most important things to be successful in this world and that is Self-Control, Self-Discipline, and Self-Sacrifice,” said Christopher Ransom (Grade 12). That was a special shoutout from Christopher Ransom and we of the beachcomber wish him the best of luck after high school. Finally, we of the Beachcomber wanted to give a special thanks to our Beachcomber advisor Mr. Moody for pushing us every day in class and making this one fun year. “We hope that he is able to stay at Mission Bay so we can come visit him in the next fall,” said the Beachcomber’s students.
