It has been a long school year for the Bucs at Mission Bay. The days seem long, endless, and tiring. From homework every day to exams and quizzes at the end of the week, we’ve had a lot to deal with. The new schedule this year was something that changed Mission Bay tremendously, and it was a bit harder to keep up with all the new work we had to do, but the students and staff here managed to pull through. All of this will be over soon, as there are only two weeks left of school. Seniors are close to graduating, Juniors are slowly becoming Seniors, and new Freshmen will arrive shortly. Students seem pretty excited that this year is coming to an end, and a whole new school year will be coming soon.
When students were asked by the Beachcomber how they feel about the school year coming to the end, everyone’s response was pretty much the same. “Man, I can not wait for the school year to end!” says 12th grade student, Robert Vigil. 11th grade student, Lexus Harris says “All the hard work is finally coming to an end, and Senior year is right around the corner.” Most students are happy about the school year ending, but for some people the feeling is bittersweet. 12th grade student, Javante Limbrick says “I am happy the school year is ending, but it will be weird going off to college and not coming back to Mission Bay in the fall. I am going to miss all of my friends.”
Congratulations to the seniors of 2014, we wish you all well on your roads to new lives after high school. Good luck to the incoming Freshmen and their new beginnings in high school; we welcome you into our “home” here at Mission Bay. Also, good luck to Mission Bay’s brand new seniors, the class of 2015; this will be a long journey, but you have one last year of high school, and you all have came a very long way so it is possible make it through!
