Football Season Wrap-up

Mission Bay High School’s Varsity football team has made a great improvement from last year. Winning almost every game and, throughout the season, just losing one game. This season, it’s been a really successful year for the varsity team. Especially when they played versus Christian High School; last year they lost to them, but this year the mighty Buccaneers won!

I sat down with Nick Plum, grade 12, quarterback from the varsity team to talk about their past games. The first question that I asked him was towards him, i asked him “How do you think you’ve been performing in your past games?” and he responded by saying “I think i’ve done alright so far”. The third question I asked him was also towards him, I asked “What did you learn from your recent games?”, he replied by telling me “I saw mistakes I made and improved on them.” The last question that I asked him was, “Do you and your team get any pressure?” he responded by saying “There’s not much pressure because we are determined to win.” Those are a few questions I asked him about his his Varsity team.

Another varsity football player is Max Pierre, grade 12, cornerback in the team. Max Pierre was nominated for play of the week. Since he got nominated for play of the week, I asked him how he felt about it, he told me “It feels great, it’s a new and memorable experience.” After having a short conversation about him being play of the week I asked him “how do you think the varsity team has improved”, he replied by saying “we now communicate more as a team”. The next question I asked him was “what was one of your favorite games that you guys have played”, he answered by telling me, “The Patrick Henry game got to comeback and win”. I recently re-interviewed Nick Plum about their next game versus Madison High School. I asked “How do you feel playing vs. Madison High School?”, he replied by saying “It’ll be a good one, I’m looking forward to it”. Another question that I asked him was “How do you think you and your team are going to do vs. Madison since they are ranked #1 in our division?”, he said “ I think we’ll do fine, play how we play.” The last question I asked was “Is there any pressure to the team?” - he responded by saying, “Yeah, a little bit.”

Turned out that they did beat Madison High School! Which means that we made it to CIF. We got to go and watch them play at Qualcomm, although we didn’t win, we’re extremely proud of them because not all schools get to go play there. Proud to be a Buccaneers!
