Mission Bay High School has various clubs that have existed for many school years! The question is, will our fellow underclassmen have the guts and courage to continue what the class of 2014 seniors are leaving behind? Many believe that a certain amount of clubs will be dying out as soon as this school year comes to an end. Even though there are rumors about certain clubs that have reached the end of their career, others can still motivate one another to keep some traditional clubs alive.
The majority of the students who participate or are in charge of Mecha, Film Club, Asian Club, Key Club, etc. happen to be seniors. If you are a student who has a passion for something that these clubs offer then why not give them a shot? After all, becoming more involved with your school and community is always something great to do in order to enjoy your high school years, especially for incoming freshmen. Being a member of these groups makes you a huge part of the school, you’re representing what Mission Bay stands for. We, the Beachcomber, interviewed Mission Bay High School student, Miguel Perez, a senior, whom was happy to share his club experience with us, “My friends and I actually joined our first clubs this senior year and it was a great decision. Joining clubs and being able to attend all these trips and festivals was a perfect way for us to create more memories and, of course, end our last year in high school”. Stating that, it’s never too late to join a club and jump in all the fun with the rest of your friends.
There are various benefits in continuing current Mission Bay Clubs, you can even make your own. Students can create fundraisers, attend festivals, amusement parks and other awesome activities. If none of the current clubs catch your attention then make your own and possibly start a new traditional club to Mission Bay that students will be willing to join for many years. Make the best out of your high school experience and make a new club to have the opportunity to make new friends and meet new people.
