We’ve all been there – the state of mind of which we see things that are not actually occurring; some believe this mind set is therapeutic, others speculate that they are a look into our futures. Dreaming has fascinated humans dating as far back as 3000 B.C.E., and since then, we’ve gathered accumulations of theories as to why they occur, what dreams mean, and if they are beneficial to us in any way.
Most people never think twice about their dreams; they often blow them off and never ponder what is considerably one of the most spellbinding occurrences in nature. Throughout the Greek and Roman era, dreams were thought to be religious messages from gods and the dead. They also considered dreams to be a sign of one’s future, all-powerful and even dictated the moves of military leaders. It is said that solders in war were accompanied by dream interpreters to strengthen their game. Since then, we’ve seemingly stuck to the very idea while increasing our knowledge of them. Today, dream interpreters hypothesize that dreams are the brain sending you messages, but what do they mean?
One type of dream, perhaps the most terrifying would have to be Wake-Initiated Lucid Dreaming (WILD (to say the least.)) WILD occurs when you transfer from awake to asleep without the mid-stage of consciousness. For example, dreaming of a hurricane you’ll see the chaos around your room, feel the cold harsh winds, hear the thrashing of nature-handled objects, and if you aren’t aware that the dream is lucid you’ll likely believe it’s all there because although you, yourself have yet to sleep, your brain is in dream mode. During a Lucid Dream your body will become paralyzed, you will not be able to speak and breathing could be difficult. It is best that you keep calm, keep your heart rate steady and relaxed; soon your body will awake and you’ll regain movement, words and breath. More often, dreams occur while unconscious. Dreamers imagine numerous kinds of barmy, incongruous chimeras and often question them the morning after; what do these dreams mean?
More or less, dreams could feel like your mind is in mobocracy and people often question why they dreamt up the spectrums. Some examples include dreams of being dizzy, dying, being chased, people without faces, teeth falling out, falling, and more. What does all of this mean?
Dizziness: If you experience extreme dizziness within a dream, it could mean you are feeling confused. There is something you are struggling to decide right now and it’s affecting you to the point that affects you even at rest.
Dying: Never fear, it isn’t anything like a Freddy movie. Dying in your dream actually symbolizes rebirth. You’ve made inner changes and positive changes you’re bound to experience. You’re leaving the past behind and starting a new future.
Chased: When you’re being chased it symbolizes that you run from or try to outwit your conflicts rather than facing your problems. It is said that if the chaser is close to you, your problem is not going away and you should consider confronting it. Distance between you and your chaser symbolizes the problem could potentially go away.
No Face: When a person appears in a dream with no face, the person represents a mystery. You feel threatened and like you are being lied to. Someone is depriving you of the truth. Others believe it means you feel a lack of love.
Loss of teeth: When losing your teeth in a dream, it often means you have lost the ability to make decisions. Things are out of control and you may have bitten off more than you can chew. You could be feeling helpless or lost. Be cautious, you may be heading down a bad direction.
