When we drive through Garnet Avenue, we see the various shops that line the street being jammed by Pacific Beach residents. Bars and tattoo parlors and restaurants and clothes stores; all them have become part of the PB night scene. One particular business on the not-so-busy-part of Garnet Avenue has been squeezing natural juice and blending smoothies since 1997.

The Big Squeeze combines different fruits and vegetables to make sure you get a healthy blend of vitamins to give you a full boost of energy throughout the day. Whether by taking a shot of wheat grass or drinking a glass of water that has been purified through the Reverse Osmosis System, employees and regular customers can make you feel comfortable.  They’ve also been serving people with their famous Açaí bowls, giving people the chance to improve their health and body. This family-run business has been in the PB community for many years; they know exactly what people expect and can satisfy every customer that walks in.

Christian Lira, junior at Mission Bay High, likes to enjoy a Blueberry Bayou smoothie from the small business: “I like how the employees make me feel as if I’m a daily customer, but I’m not.” Getting a glimpse inside the business, you’ll be amazed by the vast menu planted on the wall. The choice of creating your own juice by picking the fruit and vegetables you want. “It’s kind of impossible to choose one drink. Every smoothie or juice seems to attract and I start to crave more,” commented Lira about the menu. The employees put a lot of effort to your juice and make the appearance of purchased item be pleasurable. Their use of Styrofoam cups has become a problem among many people of Pacific Beach, like Lira, considering that the business is a healthy juice place. “Seems ironic that a juice place uses Styrofoam cups to serve their juices. But if Jamba Juice is doing it, then why can’t they?”  For many people, they ignore the Styrofoam and enjoy their beverage or their acai bowl at the beach.

Pacific Beach is lucky to have a family-run business that is pleased to serve juices to the residents of PB. Serving for almost 20 years, The Big Squeeze will serve you for many years to come.
